Professional Qualification:
Presently, he is Director of XBRL India and Special invitee on the Accounting Standards Board of the ICAI, he is also acting as Advisor to Government Accounting Standards Advisory Board (GASAB) Secretariat of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India(CAG),Part-time Consultant to BSR&Co., and SCV & Co. Earlier, in the ICAI, he was Technical Director and Secretary, Accounting Standards Board of the ICAI. He was also Director-cum-Dean, ICAI– Accounting Research Foundation, Secretary to the Research Committee, Auditing Practices Committee (Now known as Auditing and Assurance Standards Board),Committee on Accounting Standards for Local Bodies and Expert Advisory Committee. Dr. Avinash Chander also had Membership on certain important Committees/Working Groups in past such as SEBI Committee on Disclosures and Accounting Standards(SCODA),Working Group on Implementing Ind AS in Insurance Companies, Constituted by the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority of India ,on Implementation of Accounting Standard (AS) 30, Financial Instruments: Recognition and Measurement, in banks, Constituted by Reserve Bank of India and many similar rich experience wrt Ind AS implementation He represented India for about 15 years at the annual meetings of the International Accounting Standards Board with the World Standard-setters at London and also at different levels. He also acted as guest faculty and presented papers in various private and public sector enterprises and educational institutions of repute in India.
